-    I bought this from the third owner on Jan 24. According to him his buddy bought it new in 1965 (December 65 Neck) but would have to be 1966 (January 66 Body) from a music store on Main Street in High Point, NC. He saw it the day he bought it, it was black.
-    The second owner bought the guitar in 1977. Around 85-86 he replaced the pots, so broken solder joints, and that is why everyone is wary of the finish, else it would be 30K. The later 1965 pots have been reinstalled, along with the 3-way switch. OHC. Does not appear to be refretted.
-    The Third owner bought it in April of 2023.
-    Two things, both from Mike at ABT Guitars in the UK, who has bought a lot of high-end guitars from me. He said CBS was prone to overspray a thicker coat over the sunburst, like this one. He also said around the worm trail going into the control cavity Fender left spirals of routed woods and sawdust. A refinished guitar usually had all that removed, one Fender oversprayed had the spirals and sawdust oversprayed.

Everything on the guitar checks out as original. It has not been cleaned I’m under the belief that it can or cannot be done by the final owner. It was taken apart by Chip Coleman at Coleman music in NC to verify.  It is under debate on whether it has been refinished. Some say yes and some say no.

It does not include the original case but does come in a 70’s case.
